Terms & Conditions
We can accept payment by the following means:
- In person at the surgery – cash, cheque or debit/credit card.
- By post – cheque made payable to Robert Young
- By telephone – credit/debit card during office hours
- By bank transfer
We advise insuring pets to cover the cost of veterinary bills. We promote Vetsure Pet Insurance who allow us to settle the bill directly with them when you make an eligible claim. After treatment, you simply pay us the policy excess. To find out more about insuring your pet, please see www.robertyoungvet.co.uk/pet-insurance/ or ask at reception after your next visit.
All retail customers are expected to pay in full at the end of the treatment. If you are unable to pay in full at this point an invoice will be issued which will require payment within 14 days. If this invoice is not paid a reminder will be sent. Please note all accounts beyond our credit terms will be passed to our debt collection agency, Sinclair Goldberg Price Ltd. All accounts, without exception, will be subject to a surcharge of 15% plus vat to cover our costs in recovery. These accounts will also be subject to any legal costs incurred in obtaining settlement. We strongly advise that you contact the surgery before we refer the debt to the collection service.
Non Retail Customers
Separate arrangements apply to commercial customers; please contact Robert for details.
Supply Of Medicines
A full range of medicines is held in the surgery. Prescriptions are also available from this practice, which will allow medicines to be obtained from a pharmacy or another veterinary surgeon.
In some instances, a second opinion may be required for a case. Here, another veterinarian at Robert Young Vets will be consulted for confirmation of diagnosis.
Complex cases may require referral to a consultant in the area who has specialist knowledge, expertise or facilities to best treat your pet. The specialist may be a veterinarian at Robert Young Vets, or a qualified consultant in the nearby area. Robert Young vets will explain nature of the referral ahead of the consultation, and provide case notes as required to specialists. Further details about this procedure can be given by staff at the practices, please feel free to ask for more information.
Use of client data
Robert Young Vets will not allow third party access to data without a client’s permission. Permission to release a patient’s clinical records may be implied from the circumstances, for example when a client moves to a different veterinary practice. Case records are owned and retained by Robert Young Vets.
